Water supply has been restored to Dodowa and surrounding communities in the north-eastern part of Accra after a fire outbreak at the Dodowa Booster Station temporarily disrupted operations.
The incident, which occurred on Thursday, caused significant damage to two of the station’s panels, cutting water supply to residents in the area.
Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, who visited the facility to assess the situation, commended engineers for their swift intervention in containing the fire and averting a more severe crisis.

According to Station Manager, Adolf Agbezuhlor, the fire was triggered by intermittent power fluctuations in the area. He explained that although supply was briefly affected, the damaged panels were quickly repaired, allowing the station to resume full operations.
Authorities have assured residents that measures are being put in place to prevent future disruptions and safeguard water infrastructure.
