Meanwhile, President Donald Trump confirmed that he has been briefed on the situation and that the White House is closely monitoring developments. In a solemn gesture of national mourning, President Trump signed a proclamation ordering that flags at the White House be flown at half-staff in honor of the victims.
“Keep praying for these families. They’re going to need them,” the president said.
