Lil Win Sues Abrempong TV for GH₵1 Million Over Unauthorized Broadcast of His Film
Accra, Ghana — Popular Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, known as Lil Win, has filed a legal suit against Abrempong TV, alleging copyright infringement after the station aired his movie A Country Called Ghana without authorization.
In a statement released via his lawyer, Enoch Sebastian Owusu, on 10 September 2025, Lil Win demanded GH₵1 million in compensation for the unauthorized broadcast of his film. He also issued a stern warning ordering the station to immediately cease airing any of his productions without proper approval.
“We have instructions from our client to demand … the payment of one million Ghana cedis (GH¢1,000,000.00) as compensation for the unauthorized use, broadcast, and infringement of our client’s copyright in the film,” the statement declared.
It further insisted:
“That you cease any further broadcast of the subject movie or any of our client’s productions without his consent.”
Lil Win’s team stressed that failure to comply within 14 days of the notice would force them to initiate legal action without further recourse.
