Afro-Brazil Ghana Festival 2025 Moves to Iconic Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park
Organisers relocate festival to national heritage site in bid to amplify cultural impact, boost attendance
The organisers of the Afro-Brazil Ghana Festival 2025 have announced a venue change: the event will now be held at the historic Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park & Museum in Accra — a move seen as symbolically important, and aimed at offering a larger, more meaningful space for celebrating Afro-Brazilian and Ghanaian culture.
- The Festival will run for two days — 12 and 13 December 2025.The programme includes: a cultural exhibition, art, fashion and food bazaar, traditional displays, live-band performances, and a major concert blending Afro-Brazilian and Ghanaian rhythms.
- Artists scheduled to perform include top Ghanaian names like Amandzeba, Wiyaala, Edem, Epixode, Fancy Gadam, and Black Rasta — alongside Brazilian guest artist Alaine Cruz among others. The organisers explained that the move to Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park is strategic: the venue is “not just a site, but a national symbol of history, identity, and international connections,” making it fitting for an event celebrating Afro-Brazilian heritage and cross-cultural unity. With the larger, more central venue, the festival aims to attract both local and international audiences — and to reinforce cultural diplomacy between Ghana and Brazil.
