This completion marks the final step toward operationalising his full cabinet of 60 appointees ahead of accelerated policy rollouts.
Leadership Charge: Humility, Accountability & Service Delivery
Mr. Mahama urged the new deputies to embrace public service as a covenant, not entitlement:
“Ghana does not need ministers who are inaccessible or arrogant. We need leaders who listen, act, and deliver.”
He also instructed compliance with assets declaration, government travel policy, and the code of conduct for political appointees, which he described as “your second Bible or Quran.”
Focus on Results, Not Speeches
The President warned that mere rhetoric won’t satisfy citizens—they demand meaningful impact, such as functional healthcare, safer roads, education, and job creation. “We are measured not by policies we draft but lives we improve,” Mahama stressed.
Unity With Ministers: Avoid Undermining Roles
In line with constitutional mandates, deputies were reminded to work collaboratively with their ministers and refrain from creating internal divisions within ministries.
Governance & Press Freedom Intersect
During the ceremony, the President also condemned the recent harassment of journalists at Spintex demolition, confirming that security personnel involved are under investigation. He pledged to uphold press freedom and hold violators accountable.
