Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have secured the services of Guinean forward Morifing Donzo as they intensify preparations for the upcoming football season.
The 27-year-old striker joins the Porcupine Warriors from Guinean outfit Hafia FC on a three-year deal, subject to the approval of his work permit.
Donzo arrives in Kumasi with a wealth of continental experience, having featured in both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup—a pedigree that could prove vital as Kotoko seeks to reassert its dominance both domestically and on the African stage.
“I was eager to make this move last season, but sometimes football doesn’t go the way you plan,” Donzo told the club’s media.
“Better late than never. I’ve spoken with Amos Frimpong, who was always convincing me to come. I also spoke with Mo (Camara) and Joe (Ablorh), and both had nothing but positive things to say about the club.
I’m here now, ready to give everything and make a name for myself in front of these fans.”
The dynamic forward is expected to link up with Kwame Poku and Albert Amoah in a revitalized attack as Kotoko rebuilds its squad ahead of the new campaign.
The signing forms part of the club’s broader strategy to reinforce key positions and mount a serious challenge for titles both in the Ghana Premier League and continental competitions.
Asante Kotoko remains committed to returning to the pinnacle of African football, and the addition of Donzo underscores their ambition to reclaim glory and restore pride to the Porcupine faithful.
