A newborn baby has been discovered abandoned in a refuse container in Hagaline, a suburb of Damongo in the Savannah Region.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday when a resident, disposing of rubbish, heard the faint cries of a baby. She quickly alerted nearby sanitation workers, who rushed to the container and found the newborn wrapped in a sack along with its placenta.

The infant was initially taken to the Damongo Clinic, where health officials confirmed he was in stable condition. He has since been transferred to St. Anne’s Catholic Hospital and placed in an incubator for further medical care.
The discovery has sparked outrage among residents, with youths in the community embarking on an informal search to identify the person responsible, describing the act as “shocking and inhumane.”
Authorities are expected to investigate the incident and ensure the baby’s safety.
