Accra, Ghana – Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has expressed his hope that Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang will one day become Ghana’s first female head of state.
The remarks were made during Opoku-Agyemang’s visit to the Ministry of Education in Accra on Wednesday, 23 September.
“It’s my pride and honour to welcome you back to the Ministry of Education, this time in an elevated capacity as the first female Vice President of our Republic,” Iddrisu said.
He added: “It is my prayer that God will give you long life and good health, so that perhaps you will be elevated to become the first female President. God bless you.”
Opoku-Agyemang, who previously served as Minister of Education, assumed the role of vice president following the 2024 general election, marking a historic milestone as the first woman to hold the office in Ghana.
