Several houses at Darkuman Kokompe in Accra have been gutted by fire, sending residents into panic as efforts continue to bring the blaze under control.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, August 31, 2025, engulfed multiple homes and filled the sky with thick smoke, forcing residents to scramble to salvage their belongings while awaiting emergency response.
As of press time, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) had not yet arrived at the scene, heightening anxiety among the affected community. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown.
No casualties have been confirmed so far, but property losses are expected to be significant.
Authorities are urging calm as investigations and firefighting operations continue.
