Government Releases GH¢809 Million to Contractor for Pokuase-Nsawam Highway Project
The Government of Ghana has disbursed GH¢809 million to the contractor working on the Pokuase-Nsawam Highway expansion project, signaling its commitment to completing the much-anticipated road.
The payment is expected to accelerate construction works on the busy stretch, which serves as a major link between Accra and the Eastern Region.
According to officials, the project—when completed—will significantly ease traffic congestion, reduce travel time, and boost economic activity along the corridor.
The Ministry of Roads and Highways assured commuters that the government is determined to ensure the project is completed on schedule, noting that the release of funds demonstrates its dedication to infrastructure development despite fiscal challenges.
Residents and motorists have long expressed frustration over traffic bottlenecks on the road, and expectations are high that the contractor will now speed up work to bring lasting relief.
