Luis Diaz signs a year deal with bayern
Colombian international Luis Díaz has officially joined German giants Bayern Munich from Liverpool FC in a high-profile transfer worth €75 million. The 27-year-old winger has signed a four-year contract that will keep him at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2029.
Luis Díaz, who became a key figure for Liverpool since his arrival from FC Porto in 2022, expressed delight at making the switch to one of Europe’s elite clubs.
“I’m very happy. It means a lot to me to be part of FC Bayern – it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world,” he said during his official unveiling.
The former Liverpool forward added that his ambition aligns perfectly with Bayern’s winning mentality.
“I want to help my new team with my style of football and my personality. My goal is to win every possible title – we will work towards that every day as a team,” Díaz stated.
Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Max Eberl, hailed the Colombian’s arrival as a major boost to the squad’s attacking options, describing Díaz as a “dynamic, versatile forward” capable of making an immediate impact.
Luis Díaz joins a Bayern side seeking to reclaim their Bundesliga dominance after a challenging 2024/25 campaign. The move also marks another marquee addition by the Bavarian club as they reinforce their squad under new manager Vincent Kompany.
The transfer, reportedly finalised after swift negotiations, ends months of speculation over Díaz’s future, with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain also previously linked with the winger.
With pre-season preparations underway, Díaz is expected to join Bayern’s training camp in the coming days as he begins the next chapter of his career in the Bundesliga.
