Manchester United have reached an agreement on personal terms with Argentina’s World Cup–winning goalkeeper Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
United have also formally approached Aston Villa as they step up efforts to reinforce their goalkeeping options.
The move comes as the club continues to explore alternatives in case their deal for Matías Lammens falls through. Romano reports that Martínez is now seen as a concrete option, with talks already well underway.
The 32-year-old has been a standout performer in the Premier League since joining Villa, earning global acclaim after his penalty heroics in Argentina’s 2022 World Cup triumph.
Negotiations between United and Villa are ongoing, with a potential transfer fee yet to be agreed.
