The National Communications Authority (NCA) has confirmed receiving a formal response from MultiChoice Ghana after threatening to suspend the pay-TV operator’s authorisation over pricing disputes.
In a statement issued Sunday, September 7, 2025, the regulator announced that the first meeting of the newly formed Stakeholder Committee on DStv pricing will take place Monday, September 8.
The move follows a stern warning from Communications Minister Samuel Nartey George, who had threatened to shut down MultiChoice’s operations in Ghana on September 6 if the company failed to engage on subscription reductions.

According to the NCA, MultiChoice has now agreed to fully participate in the committee’s work, pledged to respect Ghana’s laws, and reaffirmed its commitment to dialogue.
The committee’s review will determine the next steps, including possible adjustments to subscription fees.
