Nairobi Man Devastated After Girlfriend Destroys Passport, Clothes Days Before Job Interview Abroad
A Nairobi man, identified only as Fred, has been left heartbroken and stranded after his girlfriend allegedly destroyed his passport and personal belongings just days before a crucial job interview in Dubai.
Sharing his ordeal on social media, Fred explained that he had been unemployed for some time and had been actively applying for jobs both locally and abroad. His persistence finally paid off when he was shortlisted by a Dubai-based company and invited for an interview scheduled for next week.
According to him, all preparations had been completed, including securing the necessary documents and arranging his passport. However, his girlfriend allegedly reacted violently to the news.
“This girl knew I was about to get a job and, instead of supporting me, she destroyed my passport, ruined my clothes, and even changed the padlock on the house. I reported her to Kasarani Police Station an hour ago. Please advise me,” Fred wrote in his emotional post.
He said the incident has left him feeling helpless, as replacing a passport within such a short period will be almost impossible, threatening to derail his life-changing opportunity.
The matter is now under police investigation at Kasarani Police Station.
Fred’s story has sparked heated debate online, with many Kenyans sympathising with him and urging authorities to hold the girlfriend accountable for malicious destruction of property. Others have advised him to focus on replacing his documents and moving forward, despite the setback.
