Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has announced his squad for Ghana’s crucial final two fixtures in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, introducing a mix of emerging talents and experienced returnees.
The 21-year-old forward Kojo Peprah Oppong headlines the call-ups, earning his first senior national team invitation after an impressive start to life in France with OGC Nice. The former Attram De Visser product has been widely tipped as one of Ghana’s brightest attacking prospects.
Also making a notable return is Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who has enjoyed a resurgent season at Leicester City in England’s Championship. The 20-year-old winger, once sidelined by a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury, has reestablished himself as a key figure at club level, forcing his way back into national contention.
In defense, Alidu Seidu returns to the setup after nearly a year out with a knee injury, while Medeama SC’s in-form midfielder Prince Owusu has been rewarded with his first international call-up, following standout performances in the Ghana Premier League.
The Black Stars face a decisive double-header, beginning with an away clash against the Central African Republic at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknes in Morocco on Wednesday, October 8. The team will then host Comoros in Accra on Sunday, October 12.

Ghana sit atop Group I and require just four points from the two matches to guarantee a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Qualification would mark the Black Stars’ fifth appearance at the global showpiece.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is expected to release the full 27-man squad later today.
